Doll head on the subway tracks

Trash on subway tracks is nothing new, but there is something different about seeing a head down there, even if it is just a doll. How did it get down there? Was it a full doll that fell apart over time or did someone just throw away a head? Can I stop staring at it and considering my mortality?
