Haseki Hurrem Sultan - This women was the first ever haseki of the ottoman empire. Haseki means consort. She was first captured from poland or polish . And then sold as a slave to the ottoman empire harem. The harem was a place where the sultan (leader of the ottoman empire) had his concubines. The sultan could choose one of his concubine to have a child with but it was prohibited to Mary or to have more than 1 child with a concubine. But hurrem at the time known as Alexandra was a christan women born either in the 1500 or 1502, was the first concubine to break the harem rules. She converted to islam and then married sultan Suleiman and had either 6 or 7 children. She was heavily influtial in poltics. She was so powerfull she was considered a queen. She unfortunately passed away to a illness in April 15, 1558.
