Archbishop Nerses Tanielian (1868-1915), Prelate in Hadjin until 1909 when he was arrested for his role in defending the town. Tanielian had this postcard delivered by hand to Dorinda Bowman in 1911, perhaps to signal that he was alive or had finally been released from prison, where, according to Grigoris Balakian, he suffered greatly. In 1910, he became the Prelate of Adana, and later, in 1914, the Prelate of Yozgat. Archbishop Tanielian was killed in 1915 during the Armenian Genocide.
