Innovation in The Bronx
Technology and media ecosystems focused on innovation can benefit communities like the Bronx since proper technology and internet access is an optional luxury in all homes.
There also isn’t that many tech offices, business clubs, and training programs. Because of this residents of the Bronx have to commute to other boroughs to find good jobs and to learn how to start a company. Without local tech spaces the community misses out on opportunities and jobs in other parts of New York City.
The Bronx needs this because computer and media skills are required experience for a lot of good jobs today. As technology is advancing, people who don’t have digital skills miss out on a lot of job opportunities and are stuck with low paying work.
A local tech ecosystem can also change how people view the Bronx. Without local media platforms people not from the borough often control stories about the Bronx, mostly focusing on the bad.
Bringing tech and media to the borough will help turn the community into a good place for jobs and creativity. These local classes will help residents learn how to code, make apps, and learn digital media for better paying jobs and local business owners will also get the help they need to expand their business digitally.
