The Next Step
On July 13th, 2026, I started my first day of work for MetaBronx. In the beginning, the job seemed simple. I would arrive, listen to people speak, and teach then be let off after a few hours. It felt effortless to me, and I thought I was ready for the next steps.
Until one day, we were divided into two separate groups: software and finance. Assigned to software, I started working on coding and scripting.
For the first few weeks, I felt completely stuck and confused. I needed extreme help and had so many questions. But, I was too afraid to continuously bother my instructors or partners, so I would sometimes sit and just try listening to the questions I needed answers to. But that didn’t work at all. I felt left behind while I thought everyone else was progressing.
At one point I felt like asking to be swapped out of the software team. But instead I started asking more questions and being more active in the team. That led me to further understand how the system worked and what I needed to learn.
During this experience I learned that asking questions helps me learn, understand new things, and become more confident in my learning.
