I participated in SYEP at MetaBronx. They questioned me about my interests, then put me in a team that supported my interest which was software. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like it although I worked on software multiple times in my high school but wasn't sure of what to expect.
During the program, I learned new tech languages which included HTML & Python. I didn't fully understand it but became comfortable with it. Sometimes the work was challenging, and I learned to ask for support when I needed it.
The software team taught me was that this takes practice. It also taught me how to communicate in different places with people I don't know.
Overall, my summer work experience at MetaBronx was a good learning opportunity. SYEP helped me gain skills, become more responsible, and learn more about working in a professional environment. Also making me more interested in software.
