Save SYEP

I joined SYEP because I wanted to get more experience of what working really looks like and to gain new skills that I never learned before. Also, to meet different people outside my circle.

SYEP is important to me and my family because as a low income family it will give us the opportunity to get money and at the same time I will get some experience that I will need the most for my future.

I would like to say to the Mayor that cutting the SYEP program this year is not a good way to help young people like me because during this crisis, now is the time that we need this program. Also, this program will help us learn new skills.

There is a way that we can have the opportunity to do SYEP online where young people can build skills and a resourceful experience. As we know that now students are taking online classes, we can also do the same for SYEP. I know this is a very good way because I have experienced working remotely through my internship at MetaBronx as part of work based learning.
