The LGBTQ story
The LGBT story or LGBT story is the story regarding lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals. Their study covers the socio-political situations that affected them at each time, their culture, customs and ways of life from the earliest records of homosexuality in antiquity to the present day, as well as their social consideration over time, in addition to social movements and historical events starring them.
This story has long been ignored, if not deliberately concealed, and it was only in the 1970s that it began to come to light and be dealt with in depth by historians. When approaching the study in antiquity, it must be borne in mind that the modern concept of homosexuality cannot be applied and it is more accurate to speak of homosexual practices, since the most common was bisexuality. In ancient times, marriage was not only an institution based on love and emotional support, it was also a means of obtaining benefits, having offspring to secure the future in old age, make political alliances and transfer assets, as well as a means of increasing the military power of the community through the brood. So marriage was an obligation and exclusive homosexuality a luxury that very few could afford.
It should also be borne in mind that social judgment towards sexual acts was not based on the sexual orientation or gender of the partner. Instead there used to be a difference in the consideration of roles, active or passive, in anal sex. The active role was associated with masculinity, while the passive role was associated with femininity, or lack of manhood; so this last role used to be frowned on socially.
