The Nun is a 2018 American gothic supernatural horror film directed by Corin Hardy and written by Gary Dauberman. It is a spin-off/prequel of 2016's The Conjuring 2 and the fifth installment in the Conjuring Universe franchise.
A short description of this film: The Vatican sent a priest with a dark past and a novitiate on the verge of her last vows to investigate the suicide of a young nun at a cloistered convent in Romania. They discover the order's dark secret together. They face a malicious power in the form of a demonic nun, risking not only their lives but also their faith and souls.
Fun fact about the demon nun also known as Valak, the name of Valak is from mythology. The character of Valak in the movie is not the Valak in the form of a small child with wings riding on a horse. The Conjuring character was changed to become a ghost based off a story by Lorraine Warren, who experienced being haunted by a ghost in a veil.
