Selena Quintanilla-Pérez (Known as the 'Queen of Tejano Music)
was a beloved American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, businesswoman, model, actress, and fashion designer who lived from April 16, 1971, to March 31, 1995. She became one of the most well-known Mexican-American entertainers of the late twentieth century. She was named the best-selling Latin artist by Billboard magazine. Selena was shot and killed at the age of 23 on March 31, 1995, by Yolanda Saldívar who was the president of her fan club.
