Ayiti
The Ayisyen Flag
In 1804, Jean-Jacques Dessalines ripped the french flag in two, and removed the white creating the Haitian flag. Over the years The flag changed numerous times, until they returned to the original in the late 90s and they added: "L'union fait la force" (United we stand).
What most people didn't know was that Dessalines practiced Vodou. He created the flag in Vodou temple in Merote. When outsiders would ask we would say that the color of the blue represents the sky and the color of the red represents the Blood of the revolution. What it really means is that blue and red are the colors of the Iwa of war, Ogou.
Vodou is Ayiti Culture, Vodou is what makes Ayiti.
