Roe v. Wade US Supreme Court decision on January 22nd, 1973
Law and Protest
Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113, was a landmark decision made by the United States Supreme Court.
Based on the principle of due process of law as guaranteed by the US Constitution, the court ruled that it is unconstitutional for states to ban or regulate abortions, unless the pregnant woman's life is in danger within the first trimester. A woman's right to privacy extends to her fetus, regardless of viability.
