Fintan O'Toole: Brexit: Ireland and the English Question
Brexit is an incredible mess that mostly English and Welsh people have brought upon their own nation, the United Kingdom (the Scottish and Irish voted strongly in favor of remaining in the European Union). It's almost as big a mess as the one we're in now as a result of the rising fascist ideology in the United States.
Up until recently, it was very difficult to pinpoint which specific consequence of Brexit would make the decision impossible to implement.
This speaker, Fintan O'Toole, a journalist at The Irish Times, does an exemplary job of explaining the situation, the reasons for it, and the untold story of its genesis.
He manages to explain highly complex problems with vivid images and a refreshing sense of humor, but never losing sight of the extreme gravity of the fated Brexit decision.
The moderator is Jane Wales, CEO of World Affairs and Global Philanthropy Forum, and Vice President of The Aspen Institute.
