The American Dream is in fact a Nightmare
This document created by two students from South Bronx Community Charter High School is based on Americans' perspectives of the American Dream. The sample size is 378 individuals in the south Bronx, NYC.
The students found that only 36% of white people view the American dream as a very important goal to accomplish. In contrast, more than 85% of black and latino people believe it is very important.
The sample size if small but the difference in numbers is striking. Have white people become too cynical?
What's truly great about this document is that the students focused on getting the data, and representing the data in a format that can be understood by many.
